The rumor mill spiked earlier this week regarding where the Call of Duty series would go next. It seemed as if they have done it all at this point, and early speculation pointed to the series taking a trip back in time to the World War I time period. After this rumor was almost immediately disputed, the viral marketing began by Activision and company, which pointed out May 4th as the day of the official announcement for the next installment to the Call of Duty series. Coming as no surprise, a trailer has been leaked via Destructoid, and the newest Call of Duty title will be known as Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
The trailer can be found here and let yourself be the judge in terms of the newest Call of Duty game, developed by Sledgehammer Games. Some interesting takeaways are; the inclusion of Kevin Spacey in a major role for the campaign, some interesting equipment, and a game that seems to be heavily driven by its story. Not much in the realm of gameplay can be seen, but there is a lot to take in here and it will be interesting to see what else Sledgehammer Games and Actvision have to offer on May 4th, when the official announcement is set to take place.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will release on November 11, 2014.
